Subject: parking results

Hello Brethren, here are the final results from the parking at the International Plowing Match.

Brother Secretaries, it is with great joy that I announce the receipt of a cheque, from the International Plowing Match Committee, for our contract with them for parking cars at the International Plowing Match.

I presented this cheque on Tuesday night, at a DDGM official visit, to the Masonic Association Secretary/Treasurer to deposit into the St.Lawrence District Masonic Association account.

Some of this money has been previously allocated and will be withdrawn to purchase the much needed extra computer for the Masonichip program clinics.

As Chairman of the IPM parking committee, I extend my thanks to all the members, their families and friends who helped with this huge event. This is an example of what Masons can accomplish when they work together within the community.

There is also a legacy application form that will be filled out to be eligible for an additional amount of funds that were surplus at the IPM.

This legacy fund was set up to put money back into the community by giving assistance to groups who continue to do good things in their community.

The Masonichip program will be put in as a project that the Masons are contributing to in the communities. (The monies we received for parking

was for a contract that we fulfilled and is not a true legacy donation, so we are eligible for the additional funds.)

Per the numbers given to me from the IPM executive of the breakdown they recorded, these figures are available from your Lodge Secretary.

- - I am very proud and happy that we as Masons were able to step up to the plate to provide this service to the community.

As Chairman of the IPM parking committee, I thank the IPM parking committee, the field captains and everyone else who were

involved to help make this all happen.

Hello Brethren, Please read this thank you to the brethren of your lodge for their assistance in parking vehicles at the IPM.

I thank all of the brethren in St. Lawrence District for your help in parking the thousands of vehicles at the International Plowing Match (IPM) in Crosby, Ontario.

Also at this time, I further extend thanks to our families and friends whom assisted us in filling the gaps for St. Lawrence and Frontenac Districts.

The attendance over the five days from September 18^th to the 22^nd , 2007 was close to 88,000 people surpassing the goal of 80,000 people.

The parking detail was a mammoth job for any District(s) to undertake. The initial plans were set in place way back in January, when a committee was formed, and the lodges were spilt up under the direction of one of these committee members.

The committee members each visited the various lodges in the District with enthusiasm to ensure its success.

The committee members were; Sonny Clark, Cameron Minor, Ken Baker, Ralph McElroy, and myself, Lorne MacDonald as chairman.

The field captains were; Steve Henderson and Ron Warren in field A, Garry Meilke and Ralph Miller in field B, Cameron Minor and Reg D’Alton in field G and Ron Griggs and Clark Root in field M.

With the great leadership that was displayed in the parking of the vehicles and

the ease of rapport you had with the visitors in welcoming them to the IPM, a positive image of Masonry was projected throughout the event.

Other positive comments acknowledged the fact that the IPM was well organized by Chairman Rob Prosser and the IPM committee.

On behalf of the parking committee, I thank you again for your efforts. Our success at the IPM was only made possible with the help of the whole team.
